BOTOX and Dysport are composed of slightly different formulas based on the kind of protein that is attached to the botulinum toxin A molecule. BOTOX and Dysport have the same primary active ingredient, but Dysport tends to spread farther from the injection site.
There isn’t any downtime after you get BOTOX of Dysport injections, meaning you can immediately resume your normal activities. There are a few mild side effects that you may experience, including minor discomfort and swelling in the treatment area. You should avoid rubbing the area for several hours after the wrinkle treatment because it can cause the active ingredient to migrate to another area of your face.
BOTOX and Dysport injections don’t produce immediate results, although Dysport results tend to appear a couple of days sooner than BOTOX. It typically takes 5 to 7 days before you’ll notice reduced wrinkling after BOTOX injections. The results last about 4 months.
